Your type is the role you have been asked to play in this lifetime. It represents the general purpose that your energy blueprint is designed to provide. Your type energetically interacts with the rest of humanity in a geometric way. At a high level, it defines whether you are here to do work, to guide and lead, to manifest or to reflect. There are 5 types in the human design system. Realize that you can manifest successfully and create a life of peace and balance whatever your design, provided you live out your type and follow your strategy.

Chart Human Design Types

Projector

You are a Projector. You are here to guide, lead, manage and project ideas and inspirations. You have a great gift to share with the world but to do so you need to be invited. Nobody likes to have somebody just step in and take over, there needs to be an invitation. You do not have sustainable energy to work in long continuous blocks. While you can do it for a while, ultimately you will break down either mentally, physically or both. You need to have a strategy to break up your work hours and you may need to nap.

For each of the 5 types in Human Design there is a corresponding strategy. This is all about geometry and interacting properly with the flow of the energy of the universe, you and other beings. It is by following your strategy that you can maximize the positive results and minimize the drawbacks. The universe is energetic and the flow of opportunity and interaction is influenced by type. Strategy is important in every day life, but especially important for major decisions such as changes in your personal relationships, career, or residence. It is also critical to follow your strategy with commitments to projects or any major investment of your time.

Wait to be invited

As a Projector the world expects you to be invited and this is the only strategy that positions you for success. Be patient and wait for the invitations to come to you. The more an invitation is defined and coming from a place of legitimacy, the better off you'll be and the more your contribution will be accepted. A Projector may often be rebuffed for offering vision or guidance without invitation. Perhaps there have been times you've offered advice to family or friends without their asking. This likely has had an unsuccessful outcome. This can be trying for you as you have the energy to lead and guide. You truly believe you know better, and many times (not always) you do.

As an example of what is meant by ''waiting to be invited'', let's say you would like to find a new career. You have always loved animals and decide that you want to start your own pet sitting business. If you tell all your friends and no one says anything supportive, then you have a definite sign that this is not a good direction. On the other hand, if one or more of them says to you, ''yea, that sounds like a good idea, you'd be good at that,'' then you have a lukewarm invitation, because it's a passive invitation. And finally, if you have 2 or 3 people with pets ask you to take care of their animals over the weekend and they mention that this would be a great job for you, then you have yourself a very legitimate invitation.

Look for invitations in your reality. The more personal, powerful or direct the invitation, the better. Make sure the opportunity feels right in the core of your soul, in the center of your being. It is a trick for the Projector to wait for the right invitation. Often an invitation that feels lukewarm will be followed by a more direct one, if you can allow yourself to wait. In some cases, you may be able to ask friends or family to finesse an invitation on your behalf (e.g. getting the right job interview). A Projector who enters into life with an invitation and the right intentions can do anything.

5/1    Heretic/Investigator

The fifth line of your profile is a projective line and you have a projected field around you, meaning that your 5th line energy is outwardly expressed. This acts like a magnetic force that carries your energy out to people and can draw people in. But like a mirror this energy that is projected out can be also be reflected back upon you by people you encounter. If you have sexual energy in your chart you can be accused of flirting even if that is not on your mind. If you have the energy of opinions, you can be judged as opinionated without saying anything. If you have an undefined G center, people may say ?You don?t really know who you are? even though you may feel grounded. Look at the energy in the rest of your report. At some point have you felt any of the energies projected back on you? Because of this projection you will at times need alone or down time to get out of the field of projection. Take care of yourself and honor your need to be alone some of the time.

The first line of your profile is a foundational investigator. You are a person who will ask a lot of questions. You need to have a solid understanding of the details before you can proceed. This need to understand provides an underlying feeling of comfort. When you understand it all you are comfortable and when you don't there is the nagging drive to find out. If you are learning a new profession, you will get all the books, take as many courses as you can and feel you need to know it all before starting to take clients or customers. If you are planning a trip you will be driven to investigate it in great detail including ways to get there, what to do, places to stay, etc. The 1st line gathers all this information and applies it to themselves. How does this affect me? How does this change what I am going to do? Am I comfortable doing this now that I know all about it?

G-Identity

You have an undefined G-Identity Center. You are unlimited in who you are and can identify will all kinds of people. You may struggle to ''find yourself'' simply because it's hard for you to define who you are. Your sense of self may be inconsistent and you may be constantly changing your view of who you are. If your world is impacted by events around you, it may take time to come back to center and feel comfortable. At times you may feel unduly influenced by others. At times, you may question your lovability. A strategy for the open G-Identity is to spend time with loving people you honor admire and align your identity with higher energies.

Root

You have an undefined Root Center. You are unlimited in experiencing adrenaline and root energy, but it is inconsistent. At times it may feel as if you are spinning your wheels trying to get things done. You may feel under pressure to complete your task list and struggle to break off your compulsion to work on the never ending list. Many people with hyperactivity and/or ADHD have undefined Root Centers. Your best strategy is to keep the energy around you peaceful and create structure around the tasks before you.

Sacral

You have an undefined Sacral Center. You can experience sacral energy in unlimited ways, but do not generate it on your own. You can utilize other people's sacral energy to get things done, but this is not sustainable. You need a strategy for working as you are not designed to survive the 9 to 5 work world. If you can break up your schedule so you can rest or nap in between it will help. Your best sleep strategy is to go to bed before you are actually tired. This will help dissipate external energy so you can sleep soundly.

Spleen

You have an undefined Spleen Center. You have an unlimited ability to understand intuition. You may experience time in unlimited and undefined ways. You may lose track of time, having 15 minute conversations that last 2 hours. It is likely that you struggle with being on time, either watching the clock like a hawk to ensure timeliness, being extremely early to everything or always being late. You may also be vulnerable to sudden rashes of fear, because this is the center for survival based activities driven by fear. An undefined spleen can be a great asset to a hands on energy worker, drawing on universal energy and amplifying it with your open spleen center. Your immune system has an inconsistent supply of energy and is more vulnerable. As a result, you are likely to be sensitive to everything happening in your body. Sometimes people with undefined spleens can be viewed as hypochondriacs, but in truth, you are just more sensitive to the inner workings of your body.

Head

You have a defined Head Center and are in the minority along with only 1/8 of the population. You are here to inspire others and your ideas pour forth, even if you are not aware of this quality. You usually find it easy to stay focused even in a noisy environment. Your ideas may raise questions for you or for others, but you don?t tend to feel pressured to answer them. It is your ideas and inspirations that the other 7/8 of the population is here to work on and manifest.

Ajna

You have a defined Ajna. The Ajna center determines how you store data and how you approach process. With a defined Ajna you may be able to store large amounts of data, sometimes to the extent of overwhelming and trivial detail. The Ajna also controls your approach to process. You have a set way for how you process things and do activities. You may tend to always do chores such as laundry, folding your clothes or your morning routine in a precise manner. You may struggle when events interfere with these chores or routines. People may view you as rigid about certain things and try to get you to change, because they don't understand that your process is important to you. You may look at the way other people do things and be perplexed as to why they would want to do it differently than you do. You feel your defined Ajna knows the perfect way to do it and many times it does.

Throat

You have a defined Throat Center. Your communication is consistent and energized. You have the ability to speak with energy. This may be the energy of the throat itself or of the centers that have a direct connection to the throat, as indicated by a solid line on the human body graph chart.

Heart-Will

You have a defined Heart-Will Center. You have will power to push through resistance to get things done. This is a powerful attribute, but be careful not to overexert your will just to get your way, as this is also the center of the ego. The Will Center is a pulse motor and is either on or off. When it is off, your will power is lacking and you must remember to rest. Honor your time of relaxation or you can damage your heart. Your words carry an energy of ''I promise'', whether you mean it or not. Be mindful of expectations you set as your defined will power will communicate commitments even if you don't say, ''I promise''.

Solar Plexus

You have a defined Solar Plexus Center and are an emotional being. The Solar Plexus defines its energy in waves that move from joyful highs to melancholic lows. The emotional solar plexus provides clarity about decisions over time and it is essential that you ride the whole wave to achieve clarity. What feels right when you're at the top of your wave may feel wrong when you're at the bottom. When you are at the bottom of the wave don't look for the reasons, just know that it's a cycle and it will pass. A good strategy for the defined Solar Plexus is to track the cycle of your emotional wave. How long does it last? What makes it worse? What makes it better? It's okay to schedule downtime if you know you are likely to be at the bottom of your wave. It all serves a purpose! There are 3 types of waves and here is a description of yours.

Your emotional Solar Plexus is powered by a tribal wave. This wave is like the tribal drum beat and is steady in rhythm moving up toward joy and down toward sadness. You may not notice this wave as it typically has a small range and is the least dramatic of the emotional waves.

Channel of Abstraction (Gates 47-64)

This is the energy of bringing the abstract pieces into the whole. This energy is the ''aha'' moment. Moving from confusion to seeing the big picture is what this energy is about.

Channel of Curiosity (Gates 11-56)

This energy is about curiosity and story telling. A person with this channel has a great gift of expressing ideas and concepts, especially ones that are not logical in story form. Usually the stories involve the senses and/or emotional attributes.

Channel of Community (Gates 37-40)

This channel has the energetic drive to create and be a part of community. The energy takes place on a small emotional wave and is driven to create tribal connection among those within your tribal definition be it family, group or community.

Gate of Ambition (# 54)

Gate of The Hunter/Huntress (# 21)

Ambition is the gate of big ambitions. You like to do things in a big or grand way. Perhaps over the top?

It is the Hunter/Huntress who controls where you live, what you want and what you eat. This energy has the drive to create or gather material things and wealth.

Gate of Beginnings (# 53)

Gate of Depth (# 48)

Beginnings is the gate of getting things started. This energy contains potential to mutate since sometimes, to get things started, you need to mutate the process.

With the Gate of Depth, you tend to do or analyze things in great depth. You look at the size and scope of it all and work it in great detail. You may on occasion struggle with feelings that your work is inadequate due to this drive to do things deeply.

Gate of Caring (# 27)

Gate of The Provocateur (# 39)

Caring is nurturing energy and is the need to care and take care of one another. This caring is tribal and is directed toward family, group or team. It is about providing nourishment and protection to preserve the unit.

The Provocateur is the energy to provoke into action. It is an energetic burst to create change from the emotional stillness or sadness.

Gate of Realizing (# 47)

Gate of Openness (# 22)

Th energy of the Realizing Gate is to pull the abstract pieces from the complementary gate 64 into a whole cohesive idea in the ''AHA!'' moment. This is the epiphany and is the creation of a whole concept or process from the abstract, without using logic. Before it was pieces and now it is a whole.

Openness is the energy to be open as an individual to hear the emotional wishes of the collective. A person with this energy can easily ''work a room'' if they are in the mood.

Gate of Ideas (# 11)

Gate of Crisis (# 36)

The Gate of Ideas is the bringing together of ideas in the formation of the story. It is sensing energy and is not logical. It is the sorting and piecing of images to create the bigger picture or story.

The Gate of Crisis moves for change through the pain and confusion of experience. This energy is driven to express a change, a next step on the journey to bring light to a cloudy and darkened scene. The cycle works in continuous fashion: crisis, reflection, and expression of change followed by relief and then building crisis and round again you go.

Gate of Power Skills (# 14)

Gate of Friendship (# 37)

Power Skills energy fuels your direction in life. It is in the channel of the beat and is called ''Keeper of the Keys''. It carries with it an assurance that wealth or the accumulation of material things is guaranteed. This energy is fuel to empower the self.

Friendship is the family or tribal side of community. This is the emotional side of being part of the tribe. There is always a strong underlying desire to be part of a group, family or community.

Gate of Leading (# 31)

Gate of Stimulation (# 56)

The Gate of Leading is the voice of the leader. The leadership is only truly successful when properly supported by its complementary gate 7, The Role of the Self.

Stimulation is the energy that brings the ideas and the past events into expression, often through stories. This is the energy of a story teller and is great for teaching and framing information that may be abstract, into cohesive pieces that can be remembered.

Gate of Confusion (# 64)

Gate of Aloneness (# 40)

Confusion energy is the abstract. ''We have all these little pieces of the puzzle, how do they go together?'' You have the ability to identify all the pieces, but may struggle to put it all together. In looking at all the pieces it can be a bit confusing or dizzying.

Aloneness energy is part of the channel of community, yet this is the lonely side. This is the energy of being separate from the group or the family.

Gate of Insight (# 43)

Gate of The Egoist (# 26)

The Gate of Insight is the energy of awareness and knowing. To communicate the observed insight successfully, however, you need to wait to be recognized before speaking. The voice of this channel is, ''I know''.

The Egoist is the gate of the deal maker or the salesman. From this energy can come manipulation and lies, or truth.

Gate of Intuitive Insight (# 57)

Sometimes called the psychic gate, the Intuitive Insight Gate is about knowing in the now. This gate gives you consistent energy to experience intuition and a knowingness beyond this physical reality.

The Left Angle Cross of Endeavour Cross Gates: 21 48 54 53

The energy in your Cross is about coming together in a very controlled way to make something bigger happen. You endeavor to make something grand and complex happen from bringing together smaller forces. Tight control is a must, for otherwise you have chaos, which is not what you or this energy is about.

You were born with a left angle cross of incarnation. This means that your life process is about dealing with karma and you need others to fulfill your life destiny. By moving through karmic interactions, both good ones and not so good, you live out your destiny. You are not designed to carry out your life purpose alone.
