I have been watching the TV miniseries “The Beast in Me” and the degree that Claire Danes plays an anxious, emotional and fearful character Aggie Wiggs in a very convincing way is striking. I realized that this had similarities to the way she played Carrie Matheson is the series Homeland several year ago. This made me curious to look at her Human Design and see if it had elements to support her in playing this type of role
Before we dive into that I need to note that Claire Danes birth time is not publicly known. When this happens we need to take an educated guess. For the most part there are 2 profiles, 2-4or 2-5 and a defined or undefined G/Identity center in the different possibilities. For your reference I created her charts and reports in 2 versions
A 2-4 profile with an undefined G – Report for 2-4
A 2-5 profile with a defined G – Report for 2-5
For discussion purposes I am going to focus on the 2-5 design with a defined G center for two reasons.
- She has that projected magnetism that 5th lines have and maybe that adds to why she is so convincing playing these parts.
- She seems to know herself which is more common with the defined G. What creates the definition is in the evening the moon moves into gate 7 of leadership, which seems there is an air of leadership in the two parts we are examining. Additionally in her career she has tended to play the leading lady as opposed to being a supporting actress.
So where might this blend of anxiety, emotion and fear come from in her design? Let’s start with the hanging gate 36, that is an emotional gate that can ponder, pout, fret and fear about what the outcome of an experience is going to be. Her 36 is in mercury which can be chatty spinning in the head amplifying the emotional ponder which can lead to being too stuck to move forward. Additionally, she has the gate 61, the gate of “The Thinker”, amplifying that deep thought of what will be.
But perhaps in opposition to this Claire also has the gate 17, the gate of opinions in line 1 which is looking for foundation in those opinions. The 17 is in Mars which is characterized as pushy and to take action. The purpose of opinions in Human Design are to lead to the best possible outcome to bring joy to life. Until there is action taken you cannot reach that foundation and tell if that is the best path to take.
With this mixed up blend of energies, I think you can see there is a battle going on:
- The 17 with the opinion of the best way forward to have the experience.
- The 36 is busy pondering and fearful it might not turn out well and pushing back.
- Thee 61 sitting on top of it saying, “Hey let me sit and stop and think about it.”
- With her incarnation cross of The cross of the Maya. Wanting to bring into reality all these thoughts, emotions and ideas.
Her Wikipedia page Notes: Danes has been in therapy since the age of six and considers it “a helpful tool and a luxury to self-reflect and get some insight”
Examining this energetic mix you can see how therapy could be a useful tool to sort it all out.
In summary, it seems that this beautiful blend supports Claire and comes out on the screen in her beautiful portrayal of the complex emotional characters she has played in these two series. Perhaps her Human Design should receive a best supporting award. ;-).
Trailer from The Beast In Me. Note-This is not a series for the faint of heart as it is pretty dark.
